Stirring guidelines

Well I've got all of my supplies now so I plan to get my feet wet with cp

soapmaking, this weekend. I'm a worryer by natures so please forgive me for

asking for help on the most minute details but I was wondering if anyone could

give me advice on what they've learned out stirring.

1) Should I use my wooden spoon or a plastic spatula?

2) When I stir the lye and water together, do I stir fast or slow?

3) Do I keep stirring the lye water until it reaches the correct temp?

4) How long will it take to for about 8 ounces of lye to cool?

5) I think I'm going to try to make a 2 pound batch (since I've heard the 1

pound batches can be a bit tricky. Thanks for the 1 pound recipe Janet ;-) ).

Should I bother with the stick blender or save that for larger batches?

6) Should I be concerned about stirring the oil/lye mixture too quickly? Are

air bubbles a problem in CP soap?

Please free to add anything you seem necessary, even if I didn't ask about it.

Sorry to bombard you guys with a whole lot of questions all at once but I am a

bit nervous so I'd like as much guidance as possible.

Thanks for your time,
