Guest guest
The hole in his heart now has it's plug in. They were able to accomplish it through the femoral artery as hoped. 14mm hole. Once that was finished, he was taken into the OR and a lung biopsy was done, along with mechanical pleurodesis on his left lung. The biopsy results should be in Friday. Am still waiting to hear on the alpha-1 antitrypsin test. So, considering everything, is doing as well as he can be. The pulmonologist has told us that his lungs are awful, however. He has basically half of the lung of a normal 7 year old. And he thinks has stopped growing because his body has outgrown what his lungs are able to handle. I don't know where we go from here with all of that. We will work on that when the alpha-1 test and biopsy come back, I suppose. Just wanted to let you all know what was up.
