Yesterday morning (cd 30), I woke up and my basal temp. was still really elevated (36.8 degrees) as it has been all week. I thought, " The heck with it! " and did a hpt and it was positive!! I phoned my dr first thing in the morning but he wasn't in so I saw another dr at the clinic, a nice female dr who told me she has treated several ep patients in the past. She ordered a beta and a urine pg test. The urine test was positive but unfortuately, theh beta results won't be in until Monday as they have to send them to the city to be done. I have another dr app at 10 am on Monday to see my regular dr and will have the beta results and will get another one done to ensure they are doubling. I did another hpt this morning and it was still positive! I am so excited but won't be able to relax until I know those HCG numbers are doubling like they are supposed to. Best of all, today is my dh birthday (yes, St. 's Day!). All month, I have been asking what he would like for his birthday. All I have been getting is a gruff, " A baby! " Now, I can give him what he wants. He has been away since Wednesday because his team made it to provincial basketball playdowns and has won some games. He'll be home tonight though. I bought him a card that has a set of hands holding a little kitten in it. On the inside, I taped my positive hpt and wrote, " Just wanted to tell you that we are expecting another " kitten " . It is a long process and I am sure everyone here has asked themselves at one time or another, " will I ever get pg? " and all those pg women out there are proof that we will. " Whenever I hear that song, it really puts it all back in perspective. Thanks for asking how I am! I am hanging in there. I go back on Wed. March 28th for our next u/s. I will be almost 12 weeks then. Waiting that long is the hardest part! Everyday I wonder if everything is okay. I cannot wait to get to the 2nd trimester! Thank you for your prayers.
