Guest guest
Hi all, A friend of a friend referred me to this group. My daughter is adopted from China, we just got back 2 weeks ago. She is turning 10 months next week. The back of her head is flat, the sides stick out too much and the top does too. Most likely from lying flat too much. I had a free consult from Cranialtech today. They said that a docband will stop the top and sides from growing then it will give the back time to grow instead so it'll all even out. They said that without the docband -- the back will eventually pop out but the top and sides will continue to grow too. What is others opinions on docband/cranialtech, etc.? Most likely, our insurance won't cover -- however, we haven't investigated this too much either. Thanks, Sherri

Guest guest
Sherri, Congratulations on your daughter! My nephews (5 and 3) both have brachy. The back has popped out a little bit, but their foreheads bulge and are wide. Our younger two children wore DOC Bands. We were pleased with their correction. We had to pay out of pocket for Dane's band. We got 50% coverage from insurance. I am still fighting but wanted to get her banded before doing all of it. She has now graduated. If I had waited she'd still not be banded. I will tell you the sooner you band the better the results. Good luck! Mom to Dane 4 yo and Cece 12 mo (DOC Grads) > > Hi all, > > A friend of a friend referred me to this group. My daughter is > adopted from China, we just got back 2 weeks ago. Guest guest
Sherri,We have other members here that have adopted babies from China too so how great you will be in contact with other parents. CT has had a reputation for being vey honest about the need for a band. We have had many parents come away from an evaluation saying "no band was needed". That said, I used CT for my son Dominick and it was the best decision I have ever made for him. You can read about the whole thing on his website My Banded Baby , there are pictures of his progress and even the casting procedure. My opinion is that if CT says do it, then do it. Guest guest
Sherri, Our daughter was adopted from China last spring. We think Cranial Technologies is wonderful. We had a Starband (which didn't work) then a DOC Band from CT (which did) and think that CT has well-trained professionals and an outstanding product. It is worth every penny. Good luck. in Atlanta > > > > Hi all, > > > > A friend of a friend referred me to this group. My daughter is > > adopted from China, we just got back 2 weeks ago.
