Guest guest
My daughter went to KFC today and did drive through. She got me a corn on the cob and small cole slaw both listed on their site as Gluten and Wheat free. Within 20 mins. I was in the bathroom with the back door explosions. Just a one time deal and done, so I know it was what I ate. That's the first time I've had anything from KFC since being dx'd and thought it was ok since they have a GF menu...guess not here:( Glad I was eating it at home!!! :-) in VA
Guest guest
Oh Hugs! KFC is not one I'd trust. Even if they aimed to be GF, there'd be dust everywhere just from the nature of their business and cooking style. Of course, I'm having my own issues with eating out lately. This past weekend was the first one in probably all 16 years of my marriage that we did not eat out AT ALL. We're big fans of restaurant dining, but those days are pretty much numbered, if not completely done. :-( It is just too hard to keep myself safe, and the penalty for mistakes seems to be getting higher and higher. :-( :-( :-( I'm trying to look on the bright side and thinking this change is better for my budget. God's just trying to help me with my checkbook. Esther in RI > > My daughter went to KFC today and did drive through. Guest guest
I wish we had something like that here... but as far as I know we don't. We have a 5Guys Burgers and Fries place that is safe.. they will make it with no buns and will wear clean gloves. They only make burgers, hot dogs, and fries. The burgers are 100% beef patties and fries are fresh potatoes fried in peanut oil. I've eaten there several times with no problems. But I'd love to find a GF chicken place. in VA Re: Got glutened today from KFC My daughter went to KFC today and did drive through. " But I'd love to find a GF chicken place... other than home. " :-) Amen to that. And if you go into a chain restaurant and order grilled chicken (no marinade, no spices, no sauces) for your salad... you might end up with boiled chicken. Yuck. If I wanted boiled chicken I'd eat at home. Went to my high school reunion. $60 for the ticket! What was my GF dinner? A plate full of boiled chicken and boiled broccoli. Yuck and more yuck. The nation's most expensive piece of boiled chicken.
Guest guest
I thought maybe the cole slaw was pre-packaged and would be safe and the corn being boiled but guess I was wrong... I won't be eating there again!! :-) in VA Re: Got glutened today from KFC my ex used to own a KFC and i worked there for a number of years. there was ALOT of flour being used in that place. i don't know how they could hope to be gluten free. i think if they really understood celiac, they would issue a warning about cross contamination being a BIG possibility.christine
