It tastes a bit like shrimp -- but is 'chewier' -- kinda like lobster (not that I eat that often !!!) but not as sweet --- when it's cooked correctly, it's great !!!! And 'sucking out the head' is usually just sucking out the 'fat' ----- but I personally don't care for that !!!! When you eat it cooked in a dish -- it's already peeled -- if I buy the frozen, I'll devein them-- although others don't do that !!!! Same with shrimp -- some devein them and some not !!! If we buy live crawfish -- we try to get them 'purged' -- they sit in clear water and get 'cleaned' out !!!!! Hope this helps clarify things --- it's really hard to describe ---- I can understand how something sticks in your head though !! I love most seafood -- but not oysters -- cooked or uncooked !!!! But like other seafood -- oh, not calamari though !!!! Too chewy !!!!!! Hugs, Randie

I am with you there , I'd rather not see what is used to be. My kids used to catch crawdads in the ditch near the house we lived in when we were stationed in Biloxi, so there is no way I could eat them. Same goes for shellfish, most look to me like someone hocked them up. I have tried shrimp but think I am allergic as I got sick to my stomach both times, but I also had consumed some adult beverages at the time ( it was when I was young a foolish ..shhh ) so am not 100% sure it was the shrimp but I am not going to find out.

Oh I love me some calamari! YUMMY! The only

time I have a problem with them is when the breading

actually falls off and they LOOK like a squid. Ugh!

I don't like to eat anything thar resembles what it "used"

to be! LOL! I know...I'm weird.

peel and eat shrimp because it's too much

work and it actually gross me out to do it.

But I could eat fried shrimp or popcorn
