My son began wearing his DOC band at ~9 months. When he went for his

12-month check with the pediatrician, his head circumference had

shifted to a lower percentile. The pediatrician was not concerned,

and I suggested that the smaller head size was probably due to the

change in the shape of his head. For my son, not only was one side

of his head flat, but the other side had a sizeable bump on it.

While the flatness remains somewhat (and thus we are going into band

#2), the bump is gone -- so it made sense to me that his head

circumference would be smaller. I assume as his next checkup at 15

months, the circumference will be greater since we will hopefully see

some rounding to the flat side of his head between now and then.
