Guest guest
can you afford dsma it's not that expensive. hair test is only $100 but it might just confirm your problem. maybe you should focus on getting a job which will give you insurance right away, job market is good now. Then you can find a doc specilizing in detox. I am 36 yr old male and also had mouthful of amalgams and they got psoriasis 2 years later and noe chest pains, so I am dealing aggressively with my problem. I had similar low temperature issues and tiredness but I can see the end of the tunnel now ;-) Is there anything I can do before I get my fillings removed? I am a 28 year old female. Had a mouth full of fillings as a child and 2 teeth with about 3 fillings each now as an adult. I also had a mercury thermometer break in my mouth as a child. I was taking my own temperature and no adult was present. I remember spitting it out and playing with it on the counter. I eventually pushed it down the drain. I was also vaccinated up until the age of 14. Have not had a vaccine since. I don't have insurance at the moment and can't afford to pay out of pocket. I'm hoping to have insurance in a few months. I have not done a hair test and not sure how accurate it will be with me. I have been supplementing HEAVILY with minerals for over a year. I have found that 1000mg of magnesium citrate a day has taken most of my TMJ pain away. I also take a trace mineral supplement, vitamin C, Vit B complex, vitamin E and eat many fruits and vegetables. I stay away from GMO, trans fat, and artificial sweetners. Would all of this prevent a hair test from being able to be read with the counting rules? I believe I have a problem with mercury and adrenal fatigue. I have always been told (since I can remember) that I have a low temperature and low blood pressure. My temperature is usually around 96.5 F. I am constantly fatigued. I prefer to sleep till after 11 but have to get up early for my job. After I get home from work I will occcasionally take a nap. After 9 pm I can't fall asleep until after 11:30 even if I did not take a nap. In the past few months my TMJ pain is starting to come back(not as bad as it was. I use to want my jaw removed). I have started to have foggier thinking. I feel like something is wrong. My short term memory has gotten worse. I have mood swings. I feel like all I do is work and relax. I find it hard to get modivated to do other things. Although I do drag myself out for a hike or run occasionally. I feel worse now than I did 6 months ago. Do you think one of the supplements is encouraging the mercury to move. What can I do to help myself feel better while I don't have insurance? Thank you for all of the advice you can offer. I supplemented heavily for about 6 years before I did a hair test and I still met a counting rule (as did my second test almost a year after starting Andy's protocol). Even if the counting rules aren't met, there can be hints pointing to toxicity. Also, it may tell you something about adrenal or thyroid function. If the test shows normal mineral transport, some of the mineral levels are meaningful and might indicate deficiency or excess of minerals. Of course a hair test isn't essential. If at some point you decide to get your amalgams removed, after that you could do a trial of chelation. You might want to add some more of the standard supplement recommendations and make sure you are taking recommended dosages. Until you test your hormones, you could try things like adding extra B5 on top of the B complex (for adrenal support). Tyrosine and/or iodine and/or selenium might be helpful for thyroid function. Glandulars and herbal support for hormones are another option. This link shows a chart of symptoms that go with thyroid, adrenal, or mixed thyroid/adrenal issues. Guest guest
First you must get the amalgams out, then you can save up for the DMSA. You can start using DMSA almost immediately after amalgam removal and then switch to oral alpha lipoic acid after a few months to save some $$$. Crystal, If you cannot afford a copy of Andy's " Amalgam Illness " I will get you one. There are entire sections spelling out how to supplement and chelate. It is nice to have as a constant reference even though the list of supplements can be overwhelming (there is a basic necessity list). I would add omega 3 fatty acids to your diet if you could. Fish oil (high doses: 1-2 grams EPA) with vitamin E to prevent oxidation (400 IU is good). I can't say enough good things about EFAs. If you cannot tolerate fish, you can take a few tablespoons of quaility flax seed oil/borage oil (Barlean's is a great brand found in a lot of health food stores). I am now 40, but our history sounds very similar (minus the broken thermometer). I would have removed my jaw in college if someone offered! I fell in to a horrendous cycle of anti-depressant use that I hope you will not follow. Send me a private email with your mailing address if you'd like that book. Pam p.s. the basic supps listed in Andy's book are C, E, EFAs, forskolin (or something similar), B6, B12, DHEA/thyroid or other hormones to replace what mercury interferes with; multimineral (NO COPPER or very low copper), additional zinc/molybdenum/mag. > > can you afford dsma it's not that expensive. hair test is only $100 but it might just confirm your problem. maybe you should focus on getting a job which will give you insurance right away, job market is good now. Guest guest
Let me say that I feel you personally. Your symptoms were so me before my removal. The supplements you are on may or may not interfer with hair testing. If they do, it is not likely to be by much. There are more than one marker for mercury on a hair test. So many things will tell. But with your history...testing isn't even needed, except for curiosity. Playing with liquid mercury, vaccines, and fillings...yep, mercury. Are you on selenium? For some reason this made me sicker before removal and for a short while afterwards. It made the mercury symptoms worse for me and my daughter. We avoided it until about 6 months after removal. People swear that selenium doesn't move mercury around, but it certainly felt like it did for us. Please note that once you get insurance, they usually don't cover replacement or don't cover all of it. Usually you need a loan. As for TMJ, I have had this too for years. Terrible thing. I so know what you mean. I noticed that when my fillings were removed it got better. I no longer nash and grind and clench the heck out of my teeth at night. In Huggins book he refers to electrical current from fillings causing this, as well as mercury making the facial muscles spastic. These spasms cause clenching, neck pain, etc. Worse in the morning. But the good news!! I don't clench anymore. I dont' wake up with terrible jaw pain, or sore stiff cramped up neck. I don't know what can help in the meantime, but I did use one of those nightguard jaw splints made by the dentist before removal. It did help. Make sure it is a metal free one though. I had one with metal clips on the side, and it made it worse..(more electrical current). But the metal free one worked great. I think you can even purchase these and form them at home in hot water. It is called NightGuard. Check your trace mineral supplement too. Make sure it does not contain metals you don't need. Like copper or iron. We ended up supplementing minerals individually because so many of the trace mineral products had stuff we didn't want. You sound low adrenal...no doubt there. I had those symptoms too. They could never get why my blood pressure was so low, or my temp. I supplement using Nutricology Adrenal Cortex extract. It is natural and requires no doc. It will give your adrenals a rest so they can repair from the mercury damage. Melatonin works great for that sleep problem. That was me too. Once you get on adrenal that will go away. And my night wakings and insomina went away after removal. As did nightmares. The other thing I would say while your waiting for removal, is lots of Vitamin C. Like 1,000mg four times a day. It helps that icky brain fog feeling. And make sure to avoid any sources of mercury like fish. The other thing that helped a lot was treating candida. Anyone with metal fillings has gut yeast. The mercury in saliva kills off the good flora in your intestines allowing yeast to set up house. It emits it's own toxins and will make you feel tired and groggy. Try probiotics daily. After a few weeks, you can add something for yeast like Grapefruit seed extract. Go slow at first and work up to a dose that keeps you feeling well. Check your tongue to see if it has a white coating? This is yeast. Treating it will help you feel sharper and less tired. Also, not all of us meet the counting rules on hair testing. I did not, despite being vaccinated and having 12 amalgams for 20 years. I did however have adrenal fatigue, low thyroid, NO lithium and other messed up mineral level that are indicative of mercury. There is a small portion of the population whose bodies can use toxic metals the same way as minerals. Anyway, start saving, or refinancing, or whatever you need to do towards removal. I hope some of these suggestion help you feel better. > > I am a 28 year old female. Had a mouth full of fillings as a child > and 2 teeth with about 3 fillings each now as an adult.
