work and leaving?

Does anyone know anything bout if my Job can Fire me for taking off

for Pt and going to do Cranial check up etc?

I do work full time at a local bank, there are very good about family

comes first but I dont want to push my luck.

But my child needs care and that is what matters. but i was wondering

can they fire me? cause my ins. is through my job

That's a tough one! If your state is a right to work state, they can let you go

with no reason at all, although most companies don't do this because of law

suits, bad image, etc. So, you will need to exhause your sick/vacation time

before you really need to start worrying about getting " fired. " Also, you can

take FMLA leave to care for your child if absolutely necessary (some

caveats-have to work f/t for a year, company has to be so big, etc), but this is

unpaid time. Anyway, I used to work in HR, so I would contact your HR dept and

discuss with them your options! Hope this helps...
