I found it on several sites. One is

http://www.mythos.com/pharmacy/Index_DrugName.aspx?L=A & P=13.

However, it's not on rxlist.com and it's not in D & D or QLEDB. Something doesn't

smell right, but I'm not sure what's rotten!

YW, but I can't vouch for its reliability. There is *some* reason it isn't in

the mainstream drug references. If it were me, I'd be cautious. I didn't mean

for you to accept the site as one that I know is valid and just wanted to make

sure you knew that. :)

ya, I know. I looked it up elsewhere too, and then relistened. It sounds

in keeping with the pt's problems, and haven't decided how comfortable I

feel yet. I'm still proofing right now, and may end up flagging it

afterall.

thanks. very interesting that doc would be using something that has been

discontinued!! No wonder D & D didn't have it.

Oh geez, I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you the medication. It's Lupron.

I'm sorry, I guess I was thinking in my head without typing it out.

Re: med help

Jody, Can you give us a hint at what you are referring to, I know it is a

drug for the prostate cancer(?), or is that too much to even be guessing.

Anyway, give us some idea as to what you are talking about. Margaret

PS I sent this privately, but please send further to the group. MG

>>> " Jody Gerding " 02/20/03 09:53PM >>>

The patient has advanced prostatic cancer and the Dr. is stating, under

plan, that he is to get 40 mg.

I can document it as 30 mg every 4 months, which is the schedule of visits

for this patient, but not the 40 mg. Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks,

Jody

Okay, Now I see what you are talking about. I also see the Lupron as 30 mg and

not 40 mg. I have checked both D & D and the QLEDB that I bought from Rennie and

they both show the 30 mg. Sorry I can't be more help, Margaret

I looked in the PDR and it only shows 30 mg at 4-month intervals, but they

have administered it during clinical studies to patient's in dosages up to

20mg/day (for 2 years) without any side effects. Maybe he's experimenting.

In any case, I'll have to have him verify it.

Thanks for looking, I appreciate it.

Margaret, have you tried the wildcard search yet? If not, in the search tab,

click " Search Index " and type in something like

c*dine

or

a*cill*

The * is the wildcard. :))

Pt will be updated on his tetanus and s/l pneumovax? I am not familiar with

this one. It sounds like an abbreviation like maybe pneumonia vaccine (alhtough

I don't think there is such a thing.)

any help would be great.
