It wasn't fun, but it also wasn't the end of the world. The actual procedure was completely painless. The recovery just involves a sore mouth with a bit of swelling. If your ortho says you have to do it, def. go see a great periodontist for a consultation. My dental insurance ended up paying for less than half of the total bill, but hey anything helps right?
