Hi , Thanks for the help. It is good to get connected up a little bit with

others and see what is going on out there in MT land. I see there are lots of

tough words that come up for people. This will be a good place to learn. Still

using the piano? Ken

Actually, I used to be a chiropractor. I messed up my back big time working

down in Mexico and have been studying for MT since last Feb. I am about done

now and need to start poking around looking for work possibilities.

How awesome!!! (not that you messed up your back, but that you have that

whole wealth of knowledge to bring to this field!)

Yes, well, it has been quite a while since I was in school. I went through

the HPI SUM program and read through all of their recommended material.

Subjects like orthopedics and radiology were fairly straightforward but

medications and surgeries were a little overwhelming - - - new territory.

Can you recommend a good site to look up chiropractors by name where the city

isn't required? One of my docs dictated a name of a chiropractor the other day,

and I must have gone to 10 chiro sites looking for this doc. Most wanted the

city. I knew the state but not the city. Is there something like the AMA site

but for chiros? I need a primo site. :D

Yes, I will be glad to help where I can. You may be running into some unusual

terms in chiropractic. This might be because a lot of the docs take specific

technique seminars, not necessarily standard to the profession as is taught in

the schools, where terms are used that are specific only to that technique.

Believe it or not, another chiro may not be familiar with that term. This can be

a big problem if it is a report to another doc or to a an insurance company.

Really, everyone should avoid using terms that are not standard for the

profession. I can imagine that sometimes MTs are getting terms from chiros that

are nearly impossible to run down unless there is access somehow to a word base

that is specific to that technique. Ken

Rennie,

Try this: http://www.american-chiropractor.net/

It has it by state and then there's a search tool at the bottom for you

to narrow it down (you can also search by city, but you don't have

to....)

Found this one, too!

http://www.dr-411.com/?g=chiropractors

Doesn't look as comprehensive, though.....but much easier to search by

just state.
