Guest guest
Hi, If you go to www.glutenfreeda.com and click on Real Cookies, they sell refrigerated cookie dough. One of the flavors is Chocolate Minty Python which is dark minty chocolate - just like the thin mints!! The other flavors are tasty too!! Regards, Lori > > Uh oh--it's that time of year again! My daughter's (who is not celiac) Brownies troop is selling Girl Scout cookies and we have decided to allow her to buy 1 box. (All of our family meals and baked " goodies " are strictly gluten free but we do allow our 6 year old some gluten items for lunch or breakfast or as an occasional treat). Does anyone know of a way to make a gluten free version of either samoas or thin mints? Those are my son's favorites and we've been gluten free slightly less than a year so we've never faced this issue before. Even if they don't resemble the actual cookies, it would be nice if I had something remotely comparable to give my 8 year old. Any ideas? > > >
Guest guest
, I’m new and don’t know all the gluten traps, but I love to create recipes, so here’s a brainstorm. How about a gf vanilla wafer type cookie, topped with gf caramel sauce (or a melted candy), some coconut…wait, wait, mix caramel, coconut and chocolate chips together and use to top the cookie. I haven’t looked up caramels—but the ones I’ve made at home are gf. For thin mints, there are mint choc chips out there. GF? I don’t know that yet. I usually make chocolate covered creams for the holidays. They’re good with crushed candy cane. I can post the recipe if you like. Laurie lbilyeu@...
