Noah's trip to Pitt

Hi

all,

I thought I

would just post a quick update after our trip this week to Pittsburgh. And can I just say again…I

LOVE THAT PLACE!

The DEXA scan

found Noah on the low end of normal, so no longer osteopenic.

Yesterday the

colonoscopy looked very close to normal. Dr. Keljo said if he did not

know better he would not know Noah had pancolitis the year before. He

said looking closer you could see some scarring and some vascular pruning.

Now the

confusion begins…the EGD was also good. No varices, and he said

that they don’t go away once there…unless banded which they were

not. So who read about them and where…and boy am I confused.

So I guess we

are going to wait for the liver biopsy results which are looking less like

cirrhosis all the time. This is all good news, but it is all confusing me…and

Lord knows these days it does not take much. So for now…we will

just roll with it…and wait.

Bottom line…we

got good news.

Hi

So pleased your visit went well.

How is Noah, he must be so brave being prodded and poked at...I am

sure you would have let him know what was going to happen, but it must

be scary for a little one to go through.

I hope getting through the traffic to the hospital was not the ordeal

you thought it may have been or did you end up staying somewhere close.

Best wishes from the bottom of the world in New Zealand.

I have always believed in miracles. It sounds like you have one.

I am glad you love Pittsburgh and it is only going to get better for

those in pediatrics when Dr. Ben Shneider comes in January.

Congrats on the great news!

Hi ,

Noah knew what to expect. The one

surprise he got was the flavored air. He picked bubble gum. That

was a hit. Either way it was a much better wake up than he had from his

ERCP last year. I don’t know if it was the fact that it was a

pediatric facility or what. He was a happy boy and the sore throat was

minor.

This trip we ended up staying out of town

a bit because his procedure was done at one of the satellites. That made

it easy. We did have to go in to Pittsburgh for his DEXA the day before. We go back in December, unless

something shows up on the liver biopsy.

How are you feeling down there? I

don’t see you post much. I assume that means you are feeling well.

Joanne,

I believe in miracles too!! I have been hesitant to call it that. I

am still waiting with baited breath for the biopsy results from

Slivka's office. I figure we have had a full class of 4th graders

praying for Noah everyday...one of the many benefits of a Christian

school...not to mention all the wonderful souls here.

I wonder if Dana will bring Josh over to Pitt. I would think it

would be easier than NYC.
