Guest guest
Joanne, Thanks for the info. My GI doctor already advised me to schedule a bone density scan after the New Year. I had one years ago but I don't remember what it said. UCLA got a copy of it from the doctor that ordered it when I went in for transplant evaluation back in 2004. They haven't said anything about it since. I guess that means that it wasn't too bad. I'll make sure to get that bone density scan ASAP and will contact the doctors at UCLA about a calcium supplement. If you are on long-term Prednisone or take intermittent Prednisone(for flares of UC, asthma, etc).... calcium twice a day, Vitamin D(alone or in multi-vitamin, PLUS.... ask for a bone density study todetermine bone loss (often done every few years to monitor bonemineral density). If bone loss, there are medicines to help re-buildbone.Joanne (, Ca) Cheap Talk? Check out Yahoo! Messenger's low PC-to-Phone call rates.
