Hi Bettyann,

My cholesterol (which always was low) has also gone up after my PSC

diagnosis. I too eat a lowfat diet and exercise religiously.

I'm glad to hear that you're coming to the conference, and that you already

have booked your flight and hotel room! Looking forward to seeing you

again.

Bettyann~ Several of my friends (who do not have PSC) have seen great results from FishOil. Hope this helps! Also is anyone on a cholesterol med that doesn't affect the liver. He said it it is important that I get on something soon. What would I

do without this group. And by the way I have my flight for the conference and also my hotel, I hope alot of you are coming!!Thanks for any advice on cholesterol!!Bettyann (SC)

Bettyann,

My Omaha hepatologist Dr. Sorrell pretty much insisted (along with the

cardiologist) I start taking Lipitor for the High cholesterol. My LDL was

182 and my cholesterol was 278. My last lipid panel shows LDL of 83 and

cholesterol of 153. I take 20mg of lipitor and for all the reasons

advertised I take 2000mg (2 gel caps) of Omega-3 fish oil. I have been on

the lipitor for approx a year and a half. I have had no side effects. My

liver enzymes are checked every 3 months for the Mayo clinic hi-dose Urso

study and they fluctuate but nothing alarming to indicate a lipitor effect.

Hope this helps with your decision a little. Please call if you'd like to

talk about it.
