Someone recently mentioned these were still safe. They must be made by

the same company that makes Krogers brand (they outsource their cereal),

in any case, the ones on the shelf in my Denver Safeway now say Wheat

Starch in the ingredients. Boo Hoo!

My guess on why you can still find some that are safe is that they are

just hitting the market and so there are some older ones out there

still safe.

I am pretty sad and discouraged when I see all of the cereals

disappear. I am just making the decision to do other foods for the 3

of us who are GF.

Maybe one of the main stream cereal makers will get a clue and help us

out!

I went to my local Safeway on the way home, checked the ingredient list, and

bought the

seven boxes that were on the shelf!

I'm going to be stuck in a board meeting Thursday and Friday all day, or I would

call

Safeway customer service to ask what's up.

Does anyone on the list have time to check it out with them? If not, I can plan

to do it on

Monday of next week.

I got out of my meeting a little early and I was able to call Safeway

corporate offices.

I spoke to a very nice customer service person who confirmed the sad

news that the manufacturer changed their recipe in September to

include wheat starch in an effort to meet the government's new

dietary guidelines about reducing trans fat!

He said it was a decision by the manufacturer, not Safeway, but

encouraged customers to log their feelings about it with Safeway.

The phone number is .

You can send them a letter at Safeway Corporation, P.O. Box 99,

Pleasanton, CA 94560.

He said they do pay attention to things like that.

Now, I know it's not the healthiest of all cereals, but it has been

really nice to be able to eat something that tastes normal!
