Guest guest
I never had to worry that much about most of my kids. I was a single mom and worked at the Police Dept. & they all knew that if they were not at home by the time that I got home at midnight...that the Police were going to be looking for them and that all the officers had been told that if my kids were caught doing something they shouldn't that they had better be treated like anyother kid. Only had two that defived me on it - one ran away and moved to Austin with my permission at 16 cause I was tired of her disappearing all the time for three to four days and no one knowing where she was. That was my eldest girl and she got into drugs and I could not take it anymore or have her around the other kids anymore. It was the hardest thing that I've ever had to do was tell there was the road and if she thought it was so better out there in the world to hit the road. And if she ever decided to come home and live by my rules that she was always welcome. - The other was my middle daughter and she took off and went to a friends house one night after I told her that she could not...I called the house to check on the kids and they told me that she was gone....I went around to the Juvenile Dept, and they went to the peoples house and brought her to the station & she spent the night in jail. Did not try that one again. Helon > > > Date: 2005/08/13 Sat PM 01:07:22 EDT > To: <TexasTOPS > > Subject: Re: cciw > > is 19, I've really gotta cut the apron strings sooner or later... I'm just a worrier though. > hugs, > janet > > > * * * * > Janet, don't you know that, as a Mother, you NEVER quit worrying about your " chicks " no matter how old they are? And about the time you think you can ease up on worrying about the " chicks " , the " grand-chicks " come along, and then you worry about them? And I gather from your earlier message that you are " borrowing " some worry time over your niece? Yep, I do that too - - - I am definitely a fellow worrier!! How well I remember standing at the window at 1 or 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning waiting for one or both of my boys to come driving into the driveway! When my daughter-in-law calls me and tells me how she worries, I just say, " Yes, I remember very well how many nights I waited for MY son to come in when he was dating YOU! " LOL Maybe what goes around really does come back around, huh? > > (((HUGS))) > Clara > > >
