I didn't realize that 0% superfatting was something I should stay away from for now. Thanks you Peggy for explaining it to me. The amount of water/lye that I'm going to use is closer to your suggestions . Where is Theresa Lott's Lye calculator? I have the addy for MMS and Ye Olde Soap Shoppe but I like to take a look at hers too. Also, what do you think about the recipe? Do you think those oil percentages are ok? If not, let me know if I should do some tweaking before I get started. Thanks! Re: my recipe for tomorrow - I ran your recipe thru Theresa Lott's lye calculator (the one I use) and I came up with lye to be 4.8 oz. I also use the lye/water discount so I came up with water to be 11.2 oz. Course, that's just what I'd do. <G> ~ .:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:. Guest guest
I still haven't gotten any feedback on the recipe that I created. Anything I should know about? I'd love to get some feedback on what I used. One last minute change that I made was I replaced the Emu oil with Cocoa Butter (which I added at trace). I crushed it as best as I could but I'm not sure if it was fine enough. I'd love to get feedback on this too. What's the best way to add butters (cocoa, shea, mango etc) to CP soap? Here's the final version of the recipe that I used: Castor Oil - 1 oz Cocoa Butter - 1 oz Coconut Oil - 8 oz Olive Oil - 10 oz Palm Oil - 8 oz Lard - 6 oz water - 12 oz lye - 4.8 oz TIA,
