Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it. I took the band off last night to see if anything would change. Yup. She slept her usual 12.5 hours and woke up smiling. She jsut hates the band and is VERY vocal about it. Tonight we will be going back to our old sleep training habits, which does include crying it out a bit. I feel badly for you and Isabelle with the crying it out. Yes at six months she may be getting up once a night (accd to the sleep books, peds etc) but there are ways to help teach her to sleep rather than jsut crying. The two books I swear by are Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Marc Weissbluth and Baby Wise by Ezzo Bucknam. The Weissbluth is esp helpful. Yes, it will involve them crying but it will also help you understand where she should be with her sleep patterns etc. No two kids are the same so maybe Isabelle just needs a little longer to get there. I hope I'm not offending you as an uncaring parent just letting your baby cry it out. Hardly. I did exactly what you did (lying there in the dark praying that she will stop crying) but it really helped me understand the logic behind why they sleep the way they do, how much sleep they need, what is normal/abnormal etc. Also, it helps with how long they should be crying it out. An hour or more is starting to push it...depending on her level of crying. If you only buy one book, buy the Weissbluth one. Olivia has been a great sleeper because of that book and so was my son after I discovered it. Good luck and thank you so much for your support. I will letting my little turkey cry a bit more tonight and hopefully she will just adjust...hopefully! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My daughter received her DOCband last Wed and none > of > > us > > > > has > > > > > > > slept a > > > > > > > > > wink since then.
