Guest guest
Hi Pam, The American Botanical Council and German Commission E don't report bugleweed containing iodine...they report that it blocks iodine. the herbs Irish moss and bladderwack contain iodine so i wonder if someone got confused. or like you say there could be some iodine as there is in goitrogens like broccoli but it doesn't get absorbed. take care, elaine

Guest guest
Thanks Elaine, Now how do we get About's info updated ? The more I think about it, since About was my first and only site, I 'may' have read this, and then later when I saw other info, thought it was wrong. Thus ,causing me to not believe the alternative info. If this makes sense, the way I am trying to explain... Too much conflicting information can cause new patients more than confusion. It can cause much delay in getting better. -Pam-

Guest guest
Pam, I've looked up bugleweed by just doing a search, and never found that little item. I'll have to look some more, for sure! At this point my Chinese herbal formula is about 5% bugleweed (the Chinese form); have been trying it for about a week and a half, without noticing any overt changes. I'll be interested in what my labs show (getting them run Monday in anticipation of my endo visit Wednesday). I do know that right now, on my 1.25 mg. of methimazole (1/4 of a 5 mg. pill) daily, and my herbs, I feel pretty good--if you don't count this awful intestinal thing I've got at the moment which is wiping me out completely. Second time in 3 weeks, and this time, I KNOW it's not anything I ate as my husband and I went away for 2 days, and ate identical meals the whole time we were gone, sharing back and forth on all our dishes. He, of course, is just fine. Terry > > Reply-To: graves_support > Date: Sat, 23 Mar 2002 17:36:46 -0800 > To: graves_support > Subject: Terry ? Bugleweed...
