Guest guest
Can you post a pic of what you are seeing? Sometimes on the way to rounding the head can look very odd, lol. Refresh my memory, did Aidan have brachy? I could see that a brachy head might get a bit of a squarish look as it was rounding out because I think square would mean closer to a more normal shape for brachy, instead of wider at the back. It's early did that make sense, lol? Guest guest
No we didn't experience that either time. Some parents think it looks lumpy as it's improving, but I've never heard of it looking square. Do you think the band is causing him to have brachycephaly (flat across the back)? Is that what you mean? Guest guest
OH I am sorry, I see that Aidan has plagio not brachy, I am so tired this morning I didn't even think about your signature at the bottom until after I replied to you......DUH! I have been up with the kids way too long, lol. Can you post a pic, because I don't see why from plagio to rounding there should be a squaring off. Maybe a bit with brachy, but not from right sided plagio. It is hard sometimes to put what you are seeing into written word, so a pic would help alot. Again sorry for the confusion. Guest guest
I definitely see what you mean. His head does look blocky and his head height has increased as well. Have you see a change like this in his face? Is his forehead taller now? The pictures are at different angles so perhaps that is adding to the effect. You go to NOPCO, right? My ds had right sided plagio just like Aidan, but Dane's was more severe. You can see his before and after pictures in the DOC Band folder on the site. Since they are small it's kind of hard to see. If you want to see the larger pictures just drop me a line and I can email them to you. Dane's head never looked square or taller during the course of treatment. Guest guest
My daughter Willow's head also looks sqare. I think that the helmet tx did this. It wasn't before, and then during tx and after. Now I guess I " m just used to her boxy looking head. It's still much better than her plagio was though. I'm sorry I can't say more positive things about it, or that it will go away. It's something you will have to wait out Sandy Willow's Mom Cranio Grad 02/04 (Germany) > > Hi all, > > Aidans been in his Starband for about 1.5 months, has another month or so to go, and his > head really does look square from the back-has anyone else experienced this!!??
