yes both my husband and I agreed dr woods knew his stuff but he

lacked a lot in the people skills area. He was better at our follow

up after Colin was out of his helmet but the first appt when we were

just overwhelmed by it all the guy just kind of seemed very distant

and rushed and did not help us feel better about the situation at

all. When we met with at tandem Orthotics she was much more

personable and explained things much better than dr woods. I did

like the PT he saw and Dwight the tech who usually did the

adjustments. Both of them were great--just dr woods that I didn't

care for much.

Yes and no on the results. I honestly think Colin should have had a

2nd helmet. He outgrew his first and dr woods wouldn't recast--he

said he didn't do 2nd helmets. also said she didn't think at his

age (he was in his helmet from 5-9 months and we took him back for a

reassessment at 12 months) a 2nd helmet/band would be worth the

insurance hassle. It did improve his head but Colin was, in the

words of dr wood's " the worst kid I've seen this month " . He still

has a flat spot and still has facial assymetry which is why we had

him reassessed. Knowing what I know now I should have demanded a 2nd

helmet at 9 months. What he has is livable--no one but us seems to

notice it and the kid can never shave his head for a fashion choice

but I'm still mad at myself for not getting him a 2nd helmet.

casting--he screamed and screamed and screamed. I felt bad for him

but it was over pretty quickly.
