Are they just talking about the label used? I dont believe 60% want to

abolish the monarchy, unless there's been a very big swing. (The

majority rarely agrees with me!).

I think was stuck for a choice of royal suitors, with so

many royal families disappearing. Philip's supposed to be a not very

nice guy and have been unfaithful.

I'm not expert on this, but I think the answer is in a sense yes to

both. Anne and her children will always be looked over in favor of

any descendant of or his brothers, because she is female, and

hence gets put on the back shelf as far as getting to the throne. Her

children dont become Princes and Princesses because they would never

normally come to the throne. Fwiw, there is quite an irony here; my

lookalike, Henry VIII, went crazy trying to get a male heir as has

been common throughout history, and at that time the Royal Family

would have thought themselves very lucky to have all those males lined

up in the queue. Now, as the royal family has become unpopular after

's death, ppl have talked about altering the system so that the

firstborn is the heir, male or female, but that won't make a ha'peth

of difference for at least two generations, and if Will's firstborn is

a son, three. Also 's *grandmother* is still alive; if his

mother lives to be over 100 too, he will be over 70 when he comes to

the throne, likely to want to reture rather than start a new job, and

Wills would be a far better choice for king. However, the only way he

could get there would be for to abdicate, which would really

be a stir, as it normally that only happens in very rare circumstances

(such as when marrying American divorcees) and creates all kind of

trouble then. Best get shut of 'em all I say....
