Guest guest
Hi, I know we are told that using ALA too early on after a recent mercury exposure can be dangerous because of risk of further movement of mercury into the brain/nervous system. I think I should add that I believe it is even more risky to use ALA after a mercury redistribution that might have occured from using something else beforehand. Not sure if anybody has thought about that, or if it seems obvious already, but surely if ALA should not be used after recent mercury exposure, then using it after mercury redistribution is simply another big risk for more uptake of that mercury into the brain. I have used ALA in the past and it was potent stuff, but I got through it ok once the effects died down. But, I have used it following redistribution of mercury and had terrible things occur from it. So I had to realise redistributed mercury, counts as another recent exposure. I'm sure other people would probably realise that, but I didn't. I used it because I wasn't doing well on DMSA and I know some people have to either go to DMPS, or simply use ALA on its own and I really didn't know about the redistribution effect that would cause ALA to become a big risk to me, not a help. I wonder if anybody has had this happen?
