I was on a couple rounds of heavy-duty antibiotics this fall, which of course gave me some pretty bad yeast to deal with. So I hit it pretty hard, probably taking too much/too many things to kill it, and I got horrible die-off also, and probably hadn't felt that bad since before amalgam removal. It was a reoccurrence of mercury symptoms, inlcuding mental and emotional, and I kind of itched all over. I never got a rash, and it wasn't severe, and I actually still have the itching some now. I get very gassy also when I take GSE or oil of oregano, which I'm sure is from die-off. Anyway, so I'm pushing the probiotics now, and only taking a little something now and then to treat the yeast, and I feel better. It seems we have to treat it slowly, or we pay the price. I did do a round of chelation a week ago, and that may have helped too. It didn't seem to hurt anything. Just wanted to let you know that I'm in the same boat, and you're not alone! Jackie T. Guest guest
___,,,^.~.^,,,___ Just a reminder regarding antibiotics and mercury.... Next time a doctor is writing you a prescription for an antibiotic, make sure you ask him if he is giving you a " quinolone " or " fluoroquinolone " antibiotic (these would have names like " Levaquin, " " Cipro, " " levofloxacin, " or numerous others). If you are mercury toxic, do NOT, under any circumstances, let anybody give you a quinolone drug. They are weak chelators of divalent metals (i.e., mercury) and they do cross the blood brain barrier. The result can be extremely bad neuropathic and psychotic reactions from the mobilization of large amounts of brain mercury, because an antibiotic is not dosed appropriately for chelation. It is dosed for a different purpose, that being " nuclear warfare " on a bacterial infection. The dosages can be as high as 750 mg per pill. Don't get into an argument with the doctor about mercury poisoning. (I'm sure you are all very familiar with the pointless result of that futile educational session!) Just tell him you are " allergic " to quinolones or something simple and non-controversial. Ask if he can substitute a safer antibiotic like a macrolide (mycins), a tetracycline, a cephalosporin, or a penicillin. Good luck! ---Meow. Guest guest
I appreciate your posts on this Cat, we did specify to out ped " no quinolones " when our little one had pneumonia and I googled the quinolones and found all the bad side effects associate with them. Guest guest
Sorry, Jackie, just know what Cat has shared with the A-M group, and glad of it. Our little one had walking pneumonia, reacted negatively to the Zithromax and when the dr was searching for another antibiotic, we said " no quinolones, please. I did do a round of chelation a week ago, and that may have helped too. It didn't seem to hurt anything. Just wanted to let you know that I'm in the same boat, and you're not alone! > > Jackie T. > > > Recent Activity > a.. 9New Members > b.. 1New Links > Visit Your Group >

I have obviously stopped the Threelac, and just letting my body recover for now. I will do a round of DMSA later this week when I feel a bit stronger. Don't feel I'm getting anywhere fast at the moment! Nicola > Nicola, > > I can relate. I get very gassy also when I take GSE or oil of oregano, which I'm sure is from die- off. Anyway, so I'm pushing the probiotics now, and only taking a little something now and then to treat the yeast, and I feel better. It seems we have to treat it slowly, or we pay the price.
