I was more than willing to try crawfish until I saw the commercial I think it was for Louisiana or something. The guy breaks off the head and the sucks the stuff out with a big slurpy noise. Ever since then, crawdads are not on my menu. That noise comes back to haunt me.

I LOVE crawfish --- course, have Cajun blood in me -- and we have lots of crawfish here during crawfish season --------but I do NOT suck the heads !!! I do eat them boiled -- with corn on the cob and potatoes - with lots of spices --- also in etoufee, jambalaya, creole, gumbo and other Cajun dishes !!!!! Hugs from SE Texas, Randie

Thank you for your input!!!!!! Just wanted most loopers to realize it 'may' be an acquired taste !!!! They look 'gross' to some -- to think you eat them !!! But different strokes for different folks -- as has been said on here !!!!! And YES, I love boudain (can be spelled boudin too) too !!! My grandmother used to make it when she was alive -- used to sell it at the grocery store (not supermarket) she and my grandfather started in a nearby town when they first moved from LA after a big flood there !!! Did you try the regular boudain or green onion or seafood ??? Again, it depends upon who makes it !!!!!! Now Helen, you're making me hungry for all those Cajun goodies !!!!! Are you from French Canada ---- just wonderin' ------ since many Cajuns came from there -------- Course, there is another term used to refer to as Cajun here and in LA !!!!!!!!! Hugs, Randie

Isn't the French you speak a little different from the French in LA ??? Same as the Spanish in Mexico is different from the Spanish in Spain ??!! That's SUPER that you are almost 'tri-lingual' !!!!!!!! English, French and Spanish !!!!!!!!!

I know my great-grandmother from LA only spoke French -- my grandmother could speak both and my mother could understand some French -- but not speak it !!!!! I know a couple of 'cuss' phrases ~~~ that's about it !!!!!!!!

I also email a woman who lives in Montreal ---- met her on another TOPS loop !!!!! So now I 'know' TWO Canadians !!!!!! Y'all have a GORGEOUS country up there -- from what I saw many, many years ago in Niagara Falls ---a lot cleaner than the American side !!!!! Loved Quebec City -- so quaint ---- also had driven through Montreal (I believe) -- wasn't there a World's Fair there many moons ago !!!!!! May have already mentioned this to you !!!!!!

AND I love 'stuff' like that !!!!!! People's backgrounds !!!!! Guess that's why I've researched some of my family history ----- Janet helped some with that too !!!!!!!! Hugs, Randie
