Guest guest Posted June 19, 2003 Report Share Posted June 19, 2003 I was just wondering what everyone's experience has been concerning weight loss after surgery. I have heard that I can expect to lose 10- 15% of my body weight afterwards. I am 5'5 " and weigh 126 lb. How soon after surgery can I expect to start gaining it back? Don't get me wrong, I don't mind losing 10 lb...lol...but this isn't the way I had hoped to do it! I realize that I will be on a liquid diet for about a week and then pureed after that. How long does the pureed diet last? I am not looking forward to eating all of my meals thru a Zip-N-Squeeze bag. And how can you possibly keep up with 5-6 meals a day? My husband will be with me for the two days I am in the hospital, but how long after that should he expect to take off of work?
