I just looked up how many calories barley has and for 1/2 C of

uncooked barley is 370 cal. I'm not overly concerned about calories

and I would add it if I liked it as much as you do. It's a healthy

food, thats for sure. I think having a healthy portion is more important.

Do you eat a lot of game? It's a healthy choice since it's so lean

Enjoy your supper!

But how much does that swell up to when you cook it? Barley is like beans,

you start with a half cup of little dried things and end up with a pan full

when you're done.
