Guest guest
" Something important to remember...we'll always be who we are. " - Mr. Not Home Quite Yet The good news is that he did not have a heart attack. The bad news is that his heart is not entirely happy with this experience either. has chronic thyroiditis and has been low for a long time and on a variable dose of synthroid. Looks like what happened is that he went in to thyroid hyperdrive and that is what probably sent the heart into atrial fib. The doc has decided that he wants to stay one more night since he allready has him there (in his clutches with no escape, lol) and monitor him while they try to get the thyroid settled down. Sometimes with chronic thyroiditis it can kick into hyperdrive like this which can precipitate a thyroid crash, which is a really not so great thing to do. So in short, he's in a good place if that happens. Mean while they are cooking up plans for him for medications, monitoring, and more appointments for the next couple months and is chaffing at relaxing. He is doing well, looks good, sounds good, so all things considered...not too awful. Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers.
