Guest guest
-I began adrenal cortex extract three months ago, along with a glandular thyroid support product and have to say I am feeling better than I ever have. I notice a difference within a day or two on the adrenal cortex. The thyroid support product took a few weeks. But it is working. I am losing weight, have energy, sleep less, depression is gone, many other things are improving. I am feeling less disabled these days! I am looking into going back to work after being disabled for 10 years. So yes, I can say it has made a huge difference. It really has helped me tolerate chelation better too. In the past two months I have begun to work again at my home sales business and am looking into going back to work outside the house. I think treating these two things has made the biggest difference for me. And it did not take long to see results. -- In frequent-dose-chelation , " seashell_555 " wrote: > > > I am currently looking into disability sad to say. I'm anxious to see what the thyroid stuff will do. Can't believe I suffered so long in the dark about all this hormone related stuff. I read about it hear and there but had NO IDEA the suffering and misery that adrenal/thyroid problems cause. Yes, Andy mentions it in one sentence but it should be emphasized OVER AND OVER. I totally believe what he says about being toxic causing you to make your iron low, my case exactly. I have always eaten meat and was taking a multi w/iron, and was told I was anemic a few years ago. It didn't make sense. And then I had my ferritin tested last year and it was a measly 4. And when they gave me iron pills for being anemic, they made me sick, I did not tolerate them well. And on my Comp Liver Detox Panel test, it showed I had signs of oxidative stress, and need to take more antioxidants. This test was done at the same time as the ferritin. So Andy's explanation of your body keeping iron low to protect itself from oxidative stress totally fits my case. I have been taking more antioxidants, especially vit C since then, so I need to get my ferritin rechecked and see if it has gone up at all.--------Jackie Somewhere in Amalgam Illness he does say that people's thryoids generally recover with chelation. I wonder how that works when you are taking Armour (and thus suppressing your thryoid). Do you become hyperT or do you have to wean yourself off Armour and let your thyroid come back to life? I've heard lots of theories about what nutritional supplements suppress thyroid antibodies. Andy says niacinamide (a form of B3) is good for autoimmunity in general. The NTH people say that Armour can suppress the antibodies (this has not happened for me so far - after 3 months of Armour my antibodies were exactly the same). On the Iodine group they are saying that methylation can help suppress antibodies (and that iodine does not worsen them). In particular, I think Dr. Brownstein is suggesting the Metagenics equivalent of FolaPro. ---------, are you taking anything to try to suppress antibodies? I know you said you feel better on the iodine. What is in FolaPro? (I'm behind on messages, so if you already answered this, let me know.) I know you said you feel better on the iodine. What is in FolaPro? I am not taking anything solely for that. I do take niacinamide, fish oil and 7-keto DHEA. Instead of the latter two Andy recommends flax or borage oil and DHEA. I don't know if the ones I take have the same effects on antibodies. I have taken forskolin in the past, but noticed nothing good or bad with it. See pg. 108 of Amalgam Illness. I have taken SAMe and folic/folinic acid in large doses for several years, so at least those methylators have not rid me of thyroid antibodies. FolaPro is a special form of folate called L-5-methyl tetrahydrofolate (L-5-MTHF): http://www.metagenics.com/products/detail.asp?pid=215 I have taken regular folic acid and folinic acid, but never this form.
