In an attempt to help you feel better I thought I'd give you some

good news. My sons measurements have gone from 22mm to 10 mm in

only 5 weeks. He started his treatment at 4.75 months and has

outgrown his first band. Since your daughter is older and head

growth will be a " little " slower, her band should fit for at least 3

months. It all depends on how quickly her little head grows. If

insurance paid for your first, they most likely will pay for your

second one if necessary. 16mm really isn't that bad so you should

have great results. I PROMISE you that things will get easier. I

was SOOOO… emotional at the beginning of my journey. Now I almost

forget he has it on :-)

Hello. Just wanted to welcome you and respond to this. Second bands

aren't the norm and it really depends on the severity, age at banding,

and also growth while banded. MANY babies get wonderful correction

with just 1 band (usually wearing it for about 3-5 mo). My Daughter,

, wore a Hanger Cranial Band for just 11 weeks and went from 14mm

to 4mm. She was 7mo,1wk when she was banded.

Good luck and keep us updated.

It's going to depend upon the severity of the plagio and the age of

the baby and the type of band (active -vs- passive).

I'm going off memory, but I think DS had 16-18mm of CVA which is

what I assume you are referencing. He got a DOC Band at 5 mo. He

wore it for 3 mo and corrected to 3mm.

Cece also only needed one band.

As others have said already, it really depends on your child and her

headshape. My son started at 4.5 months with a CVA of 14mm. He wore

his first band for 9 weeks and went down to 10mm. He graduated from

his second band 2 weeks ago and still has a CVA of 8mm. However, all

other assymetries within the normal range, and he looks fine. Numbers

aren't everything, and sometimes a greater CVA can look less severe

depending on the headshape. When we first started, we didn't expect

to need a second band, but glad we chose to go with it. You'll just

see how n's head rounds in her first band, and within a few weeks

you'll have a good idea of wether you'll need additional bands.
