Guest guest
I am also sorry if I sound stupid and depressing or give the impression that I am loosing it. Yes, I do drive my ophthamologist crazy, I do give my dermatologist a hell of a hard time and even when trying my best I cannot take this disease easy for one minute. A while ago I did not even have to take vitamins and now I stuff myself every morning with two fistfuls of supplements and medications and it does make me feel weird. I am scared. I am thirty and feel twice as much. I need some time to get used to all this. I am sorry if I evoked any kind of negative emotion from anyone, Edith

Guest guest
Tetracycline causes discoloration on developing teeth (children), not on adult teeth. I was given tetracycline when a child and my teeth are white on the bottom and grey at the base. Easily identified by most dentists and doctors. Guest guest
Edith, Don't worry about it. I am 30 also and keep wishing I was just dreaming. I take a ton of pills everyday too. Between the minocycline and the oil pills and vitamin C and vitamin A and acidophilus to counter act the antibiotics and my pills for migraines I estimate I take about 10 pills a day or more sometimes. I sometimes feel this is crazy I shouldn't have to do this at my age. But then I think about my mom who always had one ailment or another and was always taking pills for as long as I can remember. She is almost 70 now and seems to get over everything she comes into contact with. So I guess I just take after her. Some of us are healthy naturally and some of us have to take suppliments to be healthy. Don't worry about driving people crazy all you're doing is expressing your emotions and trying to get help. If that isn't what this room is for I don't know what it's for then because that is why I am here. I think it's good because I know from my experience I think I drive people in my life crazy talking and worrying about it all the time and this is a place I can go to talk about it with other people who can understand and I can just vent about it so go ahead and vent to us it's what we are here for. I am sure I speak for alot of people when I say if they have a question or something wierd that is going on with themselves or need some advise about this disease all you have to do is post and you usually get an answer. If you worry too much about driving people crazy or asking too many questions we will never get to the bottom of the disease. I don't think anyone who ever came up with a cure for anything was worried about asking questions. Not that any of us will come up with a cure but we sure won't make any progress if we don't ask questions.
Guest guest
I just sent Edith a link to the Mayo clinic websight where they have a drug checker with all of the side effects of just about any drug you can think of. Minocycline is definitely the cause of her blue teeth. It says about minocycline as one of the side effects is brown or bluish-black pigmentation of the skin, bones, mucous membranes, teeth, nailbeds, and structures of inner organs. My derm warned me about side effects when she prescribed it for me 3 months ago and to stop taking it immediately if I noticed anything like that and call her. I have not had any side effects like that but have been watching closely.

Guest guest
Yes, is right. When I took miocycline many years ago, my doctor would always ask me to smile so he could look at my teeth and make sure they weren't turning blue.
