Guest guest
Hello Fiona, Welcome to the group! I am so excited to hear about burgeoning plagio treatment options in the form of helmets/bands over in the UK, and especially pleased to see that Alice is young enough to benefit from them. Cranial Tech's DOCband is very well-regarded here in the US. I'm sure you will be replied to soon, as we have many DOCband parents here at the group, and I believe there are members from the UK using the DOCband. Usually board traffic is markedly slow on the weekends, so hopefully posts will pick up today! If you are looking for UK provider-specific experience, have you already checked out the PlagioUK board as well? You may already be a member, but if not, here is their group address: Plagio UK Group Welcome to the UK plagio group, a group for all those wanting to know more about plagiocephaly, brachycephaly and scaphocephaly. Site includes messages, chat, photos, documents, links, and more. http://groups.msn.com/PlagioUK/_whatsnew.msnw When will Alice be getting her band? Guest guest
Fiona If you haven't seen it yet there is a webpage cranialtech.com which I found very helpful when I was investigating options for my baby. DOCband I know has been used for approx. 12 years in the US with great reresults. The younger you start the better. My son is 6 months and he's getting his DOCband Wednesday. So far it has been wonderful working with Cranial Tech. They are very professional but also friendly and easy to work with. Have you gone for a consultation yet? I have alot of family in Europe and hopefully no one will have plagio but if they do I will definitely send them to Cranial Tech in London. Best of luck! Guest guest
Fiona, We used the DOC Band for our two plagio babies. Ds was severe and banded from 5-8 mo. He pretty much got full correction. Cece had more moderate plagio. She was banded from 8.5-11.5 mo. You'd never know there was a problem today! You can see their pictures in the before and after DOC Band photo album on the group site. CT is great about training their clinicians to know the ins and outs of their bands. It was definitely worth it for us! Mom to Dane (4 yo) and Cece (13 mo) DOC Grads --- In Plagiocephaly , " fionabarny " <fionabarny@...> wrote: > > Hello!
