Guest guest
, Hello. I was wondering what percentage of palm kernel oil would one use? I heard that if you use too much it can be very drying just like palm oil and coconut oil. Is this true. What is the difference between palm oil and palm kernel oil? Thank you so much for you patience. > And, no. Additives don't harden the soap. I've found that palm kernel oil > (I use flakes) harden it wonderfully. Guest guest
I checked on palm oil and palm kernel oil in SMC's Soapmaker's Companion. Interestingly enough, she didn't differentiate between the two very much (palm and palm kernel). Odd ... I'll have to research it more as I'm quite curious now. However, when I make soap, I use coconut, palm oil and palm kernel oil (as well as olive as the main oil). I use only about 4-5 oz of the pk oil. That with the steric produces a very wonderfully hard bar. *off to check out palm and palm kernel oil* Let you now what I find out! ~ ..:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:.
