To use an old National Lampoon line " That's not funny that's sick! "

I've run into plenty of people in AA who buy that whole " complete

powerlessness " behavior where you lose all ability to make decisions.

It makes it easier to be part of the group if you have to go to a

meeting for input on breakfast. In NJ we refer to them as discussion

meetings and they really lean torwards monologues and discussion is

frowned upon.Sick sick sick.

I enjoyed the 4 Absolutes article.It's a good foundation for a way

of life where one can NEVER enjoy themselves .I attend a Baptist

church where a lot of guilt is thrown around especially at the good

people.I avoid it by reminding myself that I'm not a buyer I'm a

seller.

For all time hall of Fame sickness one must visit the Church of God

Anonymous site.

http://www.churchofgodanonymous.org/

This is way out there yet I'm sure it's enjoyed by many.

As a sidebar I had 3 beers last night while out with a couple of

guys last night.Nothing special,no obsessions,no blackouts.I awoke

today with a slight headache given that alcohol isn't real good for

you. It's amazing with the right attitude I can keep things right

sized.

Peace

Haven't you noticed? Fransway, and myself, shamed him out of

this list.

And haven't you noticed that since the " blessed be guy " has gone the

level of debate has gone up by at least 500%?

Kind regards,

Thanks . I found this gem under stepper theology:

" The basis for CGA's beliefs and teachings are presently found in the

AA books, " Alcoholics Anonymous " and " Twelve Steps and Twelve

Traditions " and in the CGA book, " Perceptions. " " Perceptions " is a

sincere attempt to elucidate the theology of Alcoholics Anonymous. It

was written by a seventeen-year veteran of Alcoholics Anonymous...

Thus, CGA must reject the fundamental teachings and tenets of

Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Mormonism, etc. "

http://www.churchofgodanonymous.org/theology.html

Their theology (orthodox steppism and it's holy scripture) REJECTS

Christianity and other religions. Why doesn't this surprise me? :-)

Might be better termed Masochists Anonymous:

Problems, great and small, will threaten your marriage and

you will bring great pain

to your husband or wife. That is for certain. That person

whom you aspire to

love the most perfectly is the person that has the power

to hurt you the most, by word

or by deed, by acts of commission or omission. You must be

ready for the pain

that you will cause, in your marriage, and the pain that

your partner will inflict

upon you. Above all else, your marriage must anticipate,

tolerate and

overcome pain!

The Church teaches that we must always strive for

spiritual progress not spiritual

perfection. Perhaps, the highest level of spiritual

progress is to love the

person who hurts us and makes us unhappy, especially when

the source of our

anguish is a husband, wife, parent, sibling, child or

neighbor.

The 29th Precept of " A Simple Guide For Serene Living, "

states, " Love! Love without

condition to the limit of your pain! Then, rest, and love

on until peace comes. " When

you fully understand and accept this teaching, you will be

possessed by the spiritual

feeling that, if you can persevere and love until it

really hurts, your hurt will go

away! Pain is necessary to strengthen your marriage and

your life. That is God's

Plan and Will. Join your will to Herhis Will.
