Guest guest
Hi That's great that Jack has been corrected so much !! Congrats! It's a long road, but well worth it. My son Brett was initially at 16mm, and with repo we got it down to 9-10mm. That's when we got the helmet. Hopefully our Hanger helmet will do the trick. Ingrid Brett 9mo Plagio Jack Hanger Update Jack went in for a measurement this morning and we've had a nice growth spurt. He's corrected down to 9.3 mm so we are getting close to the end ... finally. We go back in three weeks and after that we'll probably downgraded to nighttime wear and long car trip wear for as long as the helmet fits. So that's great news.As I've said to many we are so thrilled with his head shape, Coming from an 18 mm assymetry to a 9.3 correction it looks nearly perfect to us. It's amazing process but it's been a long six months.I also asked our ortho about the debate about whether the Hanger helmet is passive or active. (I'm putting this into layman's terms so I hope you'll all forgive me if my terminology is off. I don't have a medical degree.) She said that if you think more in terms of dynamic or static the Hanger helmet is not dynamic. It doesn't actively redirect growth to the flat areas. She said there's a lot of debate and that orthotists come down on both sides as to whether the Hanger helmet is active or passive. In her opinion, she thinks it's somewhere in between the two.I just thought I'd throw that in here since it's listed as active in the database. After having one and waaaaaiiittting for those growth spurts I just wanted to share that with other Moms who may end up experiencing the same thing. Guest guest
I'll bet it will and you probably will have and have had good growth spurts at that age. Good luck! --- In Plagiocephaly , " IMPagano " <impagano@c...> wrote: > > Hi > > That's great that Jack has been corrected so much !! Congrats! Guest guest
, That is so awesome that Jack has had another growth spurt! I know how encouraging that is to hear and makes this long process even more worth the wait. How exciting that Jack is coming to the end of 23 hour wear. I hope the next 3 weeks fly by for you and you'll continue to see improvement with his head. I know this has been a long 6 months for you, but know you will have no regrets when he is finished with how much his head has rounded. Great job for hanging in there and not giving up...it's not easy having your baby wear a helmet but so worth the results. Thanks for the update. Take care, Sophie 14 months on the 1st. Guest guest
Thanks for the nice post. I was so glad that he had grown. Three more weeks is nothing. How's Sophie doing?
