Hi Mia. Nice to hear from you. I don't know anything about dialysis in

Jamaica, but, I tell ya, if I had the chance to go myself, I would go

without any hesitation at all.

Hi Mia,

It SO good to hear from you. We had such a scare when you first started

dialysis and having not heard from you in a long time I was concerned about you!

You have had a very rough road back to recovery and I am just thrilled that

you have this trip to Jamaica to look forward to.

I am afraid I can't help you out on the specifics of dialysis units there

since I am not yet on dialysis, but I did want to say hi and thank you for

letting us know how you are doing. It sure is good to hear from you :-)

Have a wonderful birthday!

I haven't travelled myself, couldn't afford it even if I wanted to, but over

the past year and a half I've been on dialysis, I've known many people who

took vacations while on hemodialysis. The only thing you really need to

worry about is that you make the arrangements with PLENTY of lead time

(months, weeks). Many dialysis centres are pretty booked up and may not be

able to take a travelling patient on short notice. Then again, there are

some dialysis centres in some places that cater to travellers.

Done. Please keep in mind it can take a day or two sometimes for Yahoo

Groups to catch up, so you may still receive emails during that time.

(www,ymcarockies.org), and the

Vacation Kidney Center is at the Snow Mountain Ranch site, near Winter

Park, CO. You can rent a cabin there any time of the year, as they have

skiing and other winter activities as well.
