Guest guest
Hello everybody! I just joined your group this morning. I know I really should read the board before I post, but I felt like getting the ball rolling and sharing. I will read older messages later on My name is Lee and I was diagnosed about 10 days ago with hypothyroidism and hypoglycemia. I was not surprised about the hypoglycemia because I have struggled with blood sugar and food my whole life, and have learned to deal with that, and other health issues, pretty well. But now I find I am suddenly in the position of having to strictly change my daily routine and eating habits while at the same time taking a new daily medication for the thyroid problem. I am now understanding that I had some symptoms of hypothyroidism for a very long time, and it has recently gotten much much worse with some new symptoms showing up, which made me get to the doctor. I'm glad I went in. (FYI my worse symptoms right now are extreme fatigue and weakness, dizzy and faint feeling off and on, and ITCHY SKIN, man I'm really itchy, lol) I am really struggling and scared and frustrated, because I am a young, active, energetic person with alot on my plate and now I cannot even go to the grocery store, I feel so faint and tired. I have no friends or family in my town, so I am on my own. And just taking care of myself and my dog is taking all my energy. I guess I am most concerned at this point because I have been on the medication for about 10 days now and I am just getting worse, not getting any better at all. Do any of you have any suggestions on how long it takes armour thyroid to kick in? And could my new eating routine, for my hypoglycemia, be messing up the meds? I get up, take my thyroid med, walk the dog (when I'm able to), then eat my first breakfast about 1/2 hour after my med. And I have cut out soy after reading some things about that. I am a vegetarian (with fish) and I really miss soy in my diet! Anyway, I know this is long and rambling, and I appreciate a place to post my concerns. Thanks for reading it, anyone who did, lol Love, Lee
