Guest guest
Hi Carol Annie wasn't treated for her plagio as her head stopped growing for 6 months and they firstly thought it was cranio, then plagio and finally microcepahaly. She was actually plagio with slowed growth. Her plagio came in gestation, my son has cranio, or at birth not through sleeping on her back. Because of 's cranio we were transferred to a specialist hospital over here in the UK. For some reason our health system does not advocate helmets although you can source them privately. A helmet was not in question for Annie as her head was not growing. Her symetry is not too bad and her ears are covered by hair although she does still have the prominent ridges behind them. Her pictures are on the board under Anie-Mae. I will try and put another on there that is more recent. We are concerned about her ears. She is now 18 months old and can say Mama and No, though this sounds like she is repeating the sound rather than the word. Mama is the only definate word she can say. I have read that if someone keeps having their ear drum burst it can cause hearing loss. Both of Annies ears have burst 3 times in the past 3-4 months. I have spoken to my GP and they said they will refer her to the ear, nose and throat unit if she bursts them again. Over here an appointment can take between 6-8 months to get. Not too sure what to do as we always seem to be at the gp's for one reason or another with the children. Guest guest
Hi . I think you should call a ear, nose, throat doctor as soon as possible. Don't wait until the ear burst again. I'm a speech pathologist and at 18 months of age, she should have many more words and should be putting words together. Do you have early intervention services or can you get her speech/language evaluated. If you get her speech evaluated they might do a hearing evaluation as part of their evaluation and with the history of infections they would probably recommend her seeing a specialist. Good luck. Guest guest
We have used garlic/mullein oil ear drops successfully. You can get them at the HFS. > I seem to remember something that can be used to treat ear infections > naturally. My 15 month old has an ear infection. No tubes. Guest guest
Please consider having a Traditional Chiropractor looking at him to make sure there is no injury in his neck from birth. Many go undetected and manifest in ear/sinus infections. If it is a problem for your child, you will get rid of this ear infection only to have one pop up over and over again. My daughter is ten, and as an infant/toddler she had this problem continually. I only recently found out that it was due to a birth injury. It will save you time, money, and heartache to eliminate it as a possibility. Debbie cr84work <jsievers@...> wrote: I seem to remember something that can be used to treat ear infections naturally. Guest guest
Chiropractors can also drain the fluid that is behind the ear. If you suspect bacteria has set in you can use collidal silver. I use the spray kind. One spray in the morning and one at night for 10 days followed by probiotics. Works. Many are viral in cause though. Give lots of vitamin C and maybe olive leaf extract. That is a good, safe antiviral. There is a homeopathic earache supplement you can actually get at Walmart. Simisalian??? Some really hard to pronounce name! Sorry but it should work. Heated good quality oil can also help with pain. Would definitely head to the chiro, that is exactly what I would do first. Promise!
