Guest guest
Dear Dan, I'm saddened to read of your latest diagnosis. I will be praying that God puts you in the hands of the right people who will give you a miraculous outcome. There are others who have been through CC, and went on to tx, so I'm believing that the same will happen for you! Thank you for pointing out that an annual CA-19-9 may not be enough. We all need a reminder once in awhile to stay on top of this. My CA-19-9 has been elevated for quite sometime, but they are still only checking it every 12 months. I will request that they do it every 3-6 mo. especially since I have had PSC for so long. Again, thanks for taking the time, in the midst of your own issues, to be concerned for all of us. Blessings (MO)PSC & UC '84, chronic pancreatitis '97, listed for tx 06/05for details see www.caringbridge.org/visit/melaniejs

Guest guest
Dear Dan, After reading your post today I just want to let you know you are in my prayers and that I send you a lot of good vibes. Thanks for reminding us once again to be vigilant with this disease. As I head to Pittsburgh to set the date for my live donor tx I am reminded that in the end we are responsible for ourselves. Anything can happen. If you go to WWW.UPMC.com and go to oncology and then liver cancer, they are doing some amazing things there. Checkout their website to see if there is anything for you. Keep fighting! I live by this rule - it's not over till it's over, and even then it's not over. Guest guest
Dear Dan -- I'm so sorry to hear of your CCA diagnosis! Please know that prayers are sent your way for strength, support, and healing. My husband Brad was also diagnosed with PSC in '05 and " possible " CC in '05. We flew to Mayo just two weeks ago for further testing. CA-19 also indicated. For a few reasons, Brad is not a candidate for tx. Next best thing for him is photodynamic therapy (PDT). Is that a possibility for you, Dan? Or is tx an option? Brad is still awaiting the final outcome of his tests. Please keep us posted on your journey through this health crisis. I'd also be interested in the outcome of your second opinion at S-K. Positive thoughts your way! Diane

Guest guest
Dan, Sorry to hear about your dx. I was in a similar situation 3 years ago. I was referred to Dr. Gores at the Mayo because my stents in the common bile duct kept getting clogged. Dr. Gores dx me with CC and I had surgery done there by Dr. Nagorney. My CC was outside the liver in the mid bile duct but it had invaded the pancreas. I had chemo and radiation after the surgery. I think you are in the best place to get the best outcome for this dx. Stay positive and be aggressive. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Liz in Fredericksburg, VA
