Guest guest
Iron is on the " abstain " list for colonoscopies (and aspirin or other NSAIDs), to minimize the risk of bleeding. I assume a similar restriction would apply for any endoscopy, but you'll have to ask the endoscopist's office. It will not affect imaging. I will ask the doctor's office tomorrow. Does is mess up the X-ray? Thanks, Martha (MA)

Guest guest
The endoscopist's admin assistant said as long as I stop now, having taken the iron previously is fine. The list of meds to stop 7 days ahead included aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, relafen, lodine, peptobismol, and coumadin. Thanks to all who answered. It would have been awful trying to reschedule all the elements that have to come together for me to get an ERCP- grandma babysitting, the friend Ed stays with, not to mention the doctor and the experimental scope he's going to use!
