I was just reading an article about the new #'s cholesterol should

be, it was 70. I know my cholesterol is 4 times that at 280 last

time I had it checked. I should be starting a new med for it but I

couldn't believe it when I read that. The target goal was 100 but

now they are saying it should be lower. I don't know anyone who's #

is that low.

Well I just thought I'd share that tid-bit of info.

Hi ,

I have no hard information for you here. When my son was first diagnosed,

his cholesterol was really high. Among other things, he's been doing fish

oil for about a year and a half. Once the proteinuria got under control,

the cholesterol problem also vanished. Fish oil does not seem to be causing

problems in this respect.

Thanks, Cy, but I was not the one asking the question, I was the one

answering it......lol.

Fish oil has no saturated fats is the answer why it does not raise

cholesterol!

I was the one asking the question and thanks for all of the answers.

I would have replied earlier but I have been having off and on again

PC problems and took the big action of just wiping out my PC and

reinstalling everything, OS, software, etc.

Anyway thanks for the answers!!

  • 1 year later...

Many thanks Patt:-)))) That's interesting about the low cholestrol causing depression, because I had that for many years and have just gone off Prozac (started cutting it down a month ago and am off it now, and noticing no difference, so I suspect the Armour is sorting that too!).

Thanks again Patt:-))) Love Chris

ChrisBefore a heart attack 5.something is acceptable, after a heart attack they (NHS) prefer it to be below 5. Mine is 4.3 which according to my Dr. is great. The chinese have very low cholesterol below 2 I believe but I am sure somewhere I read that a very low cholesterol causes depression. You don't appear to suffer from that though. So Good on you. Well done. In every respect.Patt
