Guest guest Posted January 31, 2003 Report Share Posted January 31, 2003 .... had to tell all of you: I got a call from Dr. Gallinat two days ago: He asked me if I might be willing to talk about my AS story in front of one of the biggest German documentary TV broadcast stations (SPIEGEL TV)!!!! Guess what my answer was like ... They are going to do a 40-minute-documentary about the clinic. A minute ago I stopped talking to the lady in charge, she is eager to get more than just the clinic (white coats, white tiles etc. etc.) in front of the camera and would LOVE to talk to a patient with an interesting story! She seemed quite happy to have found me. After I had told her that I have accompanied 13 members to see Dr. Gallinat, she even wanted to know whether another member of our group is coming soon and whether she might be willing to talk in front of the camera, too! but it depends on when the documentary is going on air (March or later). And she said that she is also listening to me as a private person since this could happen to everyone after a D & C, and she had no idea that one needs to be aware of such things. I made a deal with her: She can ask me whatever necessary for a good story IF she is definitely NOT going to cut away the bit about our group!!!! So, all in all she is going to visit me at home next Tuesday and we will talk about it in length. The week after the camera team will join us. Needless to say I am excited ... Any ideas what is the most important to mention (except for Poly´s name and work of course, I am going to tell them about Judith´s second name )? THnaks to you and Poly and the numerous others on this site, the word about AS will get out there to the general public. In my opinion, one of the most important factors to mention is how this does seem to happen to many women after a D & C on a recently pregnant uterus. If only we had been aware, we might have mentioned it to our doctors so they and we would be able to try to avoid it at all costs. This is wonderful news and as others have said before, I'm sure you will be the perfect spokesperson. I would love to see the story or even a transcript of the show. I know that you will do so well in the interview because you have it in you to tell the world about ashermans and you jumped to the opportunity when it was given to you. Hey, I will become famous in Germany!! My name is going to be on one of the biggest TV broadcast stations in Germany. Knowing my luck, that will probably be the bit that will be cut out. LOL!! Anyway, jokes aside, the point is that Ashermans is finally coming out to the open and perhaps someone will find it interesting enough to feel the need to do another documentary just on Ashermans. Ya never know!! Thank you Corinna for putting so much into this board. You do so much for us all that I want you to know it is greatly appreciated. I can't wait for Tuesday when you will be interviewed. I will be thinking all the time about you. Also, I too would be very interested in the tape of this documentary. (you will have to translate it to me when next in Cyprus) As I read the emails from all these members wanting to see it too, I thought that it would be a good idea if you could add somewhere on the files section details of an account where we could all send you the cost of the tape plus postage to Europe or US etc etc. This way, anyone interested can just send you an email requesting the tape and they will know the cost.
