Well I don't even know where to begin. I am so upset about this

whole thing. We got to the appointment and he put it on for the

first time and of course she screamed bloody murder. It didn't fit.

The opening was at least 2 " . He took it off and went to get another

orthotist and he put it on again. They measured her head again and

checked them against the measurements when she was casted and

checked the measurements of the helmet and he said they were all the

same. The man he brought in said it looked as if her back left

prominent area was not fitting into the helmet. They took the helmet

away and shaved some stuff out of it. And tried it again and this

time it went on but IMO, was still too tight. He did some cutting

down around the ears and the cheek area and gave me the speal about

if a red spot lasts more than an hour to keep the helmet off and

come in to get it looked at. Oh wait, first he said to put alcohol

on the red spot and cover it with a bandaid and then come in in a

couple days. (Doesn't seem right)

We went home and I put it on for the hour and when I took it off the

area where the opening is was bulging and red. It lasted over an

hour and you could still see the indent. I paged the on-call guy and

he said to call the office in the am to see if there are any appts.

to come in and get it looked at. He didn't seem concerned and

frankly was kind of short with me.

I have uploaded several pics to my photo area. I would

appreciate you guys' wonderful opinions. For those who have a

Starband, how hard is it to get on? We have to really struggle to

spread that thing apart in order to get it on her head. And the

opening where the velcro is, seems to me like the gap is too wide. I

also think the area around the ears is too crooked. I have made an

appt first thing in the morning with another orthotic place in Boise

to get her opinion as to if she thinks it is a good fit. I for sure

am not going to let my precious baby suffer at the hands of

incompetent people. If they work at it try to fix it and it is not

to my liking and I am still displeased with it, I will ask for a

refund! Sorry to be so harsh, but $1500 is a lot of money and if I

have to fight through the courts for my money back, so help me I

will. And I will get my mama involved, she can be one mean lady. LOL

Here is the link to the photos. Thank you so much for taking the

time to read this.
