Guest guest
Okay, I called my nephrologists office because I have been having blurred vision, headaches and heart palpatations for about 2 weeks now. The past few days have been so bad I can't sleep. I called the office and this nurse that is filling in while the regular one is on vacation said " oh, it doesn't sound kidney related to me, call your primary care doctor " . She didn't even discuss it with my Neph! So I called my primary doctor and he said he could get me in on Thursday, but he didn't understand why the Neph wouldn't want to see me. So I called back today and told the receptionist I would like to leave a note for my Neph directly, she put me on hold and put this nurse on again. Who basically blew me off again! I have a feeling my Neph would want to know this was going on, he's very attentive and has always told me to call him with any questions. What would you do if you were me? Guest guest
Jill, Any nephrologist I've ever had would be impossible to see for something like this before the next scheduled appointment. I think you would be better off seeing your primary care physician anyway. The primary doctor can always phone the nephrologist if it's necessary - and get past the nurse too... Guest guest
Bonnie, That is a great diagnostic check list you gave us. Thanks for taking the time to be so in depth. It was important to list under what circumstances it should be considered urgent enough to go to the ER. Thanks!
