Guest guest
Oh dear sweet ... There are no words to express how sorry I am nor how sad I am that you reached this point so quickly. I know that after you hit 3 or so, further progression can occur so rapidly, but even knowing that it has to be so hard when you get that call. I will pray for you tomorrow , and when you feel better, please let us know how your first dialysis session went ok? God bless you!
Guest guest
(((((((((())))))))))) I hope things go smoothly for you. I know it's hard to conceive that it has finally come but just think how much better you will begin feeling once they get the dialysis started. Hang in there. Please let us know how you are doing when you get home. I just had my labs done today and I plan on calling for the results tomorrow so I'm not sweating bullets on vacation. I had a small upward trend on my creatinine last month and I'm hoping it's stayed put or has gone back down. Guest guest
Sorry to hear that . Don't despair though. Lots of us have been there before. It will be Ok. I just drove home on the crosstown expressway from my what seems like millionth dialysis treatment, and I'm just fine. People keep telling me I look great. They are either lying or I actually do look good - not sure which. But I sure do feel a heck of a lot better than before I started dialysis, that's for sure. I assume that by catheter you mean a temporary catheter for hemodialysis so you can start dialysis right away. I've never had one myself since my fistula was ready in plenty of time, but everyone I know who had one put in had it done as an outpatient procedure, that is, no hospital stay. Better have someone drive you though. Good luck. And keep positive about it. Don't judge it by your first few treatments, as they may have to adjust some things over a period of time, and it can take a few weeks before you really start feeling better - but you WILL. Guest guest
, I am sooooo glad you went to the neph. Those numbers must have been a complete shock. Getting dealt this card at such a young age is just plain unfair. I imagine the next few weeks will be rather unsettled as you and your family try to adapt to the new routine. I hope what everyone says about feeling better after dialysis is true - and doubly more so in your case. Please know we are here to support you. Please let us know how things go with the surgery. I know I will be watching for your next post. Cy Top 5 worst days of my life > I've had a few bad days but when it comes to the top 5, today is one > of those. If you need to talk at any time, please let all of us know. We will keep you in our prayers. ********************************************************************************\ ****************************** hello sarah , may level in the english language is not good for this please write me in frensh maamar algeria ********************************************************************************\ ****************************** Top 5 worst days of my life I've had a few bad days but when it comes to the top 5, today is one of those. I just got my labs back and my creatinine is 11 from 4.? last month and my BUN is 68. My cholesterol did go down to 148 so there is no need to start a new drug for that. I will get my cath put in in the morning so I can start dialysis. Now, is this an overnight thing or do I get to go home tomorrow? I totaly forgot to ask when the neph called. It was 10 years ago this month that I was dx so I guess it's only right that I start dialysis now. My neph explained that the reason I've been sleeping all the time is partly because my kidneys have been shutting down. I've also been throwing up a lot lately and he says that is another sign. It's time for another nap. Guest guest
Hi , Gosh, I would probably agree that with the news of going from the 4's to 11 would be within the top 5 worst days of one's life. That didn't give you much time to mentally prepare for the next phase of your life and I'm sure it seems surreal that it's happening this quickly. A little part of all of us here take your news very much to heart. I'm sure that many of the members of this list, feel like I do when I say that a little twinge of fear of the unknown runs down my spine when I hear of one of " our own " beginning dialysis, fistula surgery, going for transplant evaluations and testing or the go ahead for organ transplant. As many ahead of you have said, you will feel better once you have established your dialysis routine than you do today. There will be light at the end of this tunnel... Not to be repetitive, but just know that you are not alone, nor is your family. Remind them that if anyone wants to come here for support, to blow off steam or just to cry we're here for you ALL. Please let us know how you're doing, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Connie Re: Top 5 worst days of my life I just turned 27 in May. I've had signs since I was 6 but wasn't dx till I was 17. I can't wait for the energy to return back to my body. I've heard once I start I will feel much better.
