Guest guest
I found a quick replacement for cream of Mushroom soup that so far has worked in the recipes I've tried... I took a large can (similar to reg. soup can) of mushroom pieces... drained a little of the juice off and then dumped the whole thing, remaining juice and all into my magic bullet... (I think a food processor will work too), and mixed until it was a glob of pureed mushrooms then thinned slightly with some milk. I've used this in gravies or sauces that normally call for a can of cream of mushroom soup and it works just as well. :-) in VA
Guest guest
Thank you SO SO much for this idea. We have been trying to find a solution for cream of mushroom soup and so far have turned up nothing. I have several recipes that can easily be turned GF but not w/o the soup, so I will definitely try this. We even have a magic bullet. Thanks!! Guest guest
Rhiannon, Are you not able to eat dairy? If you can, there is at least one cream soup mix recipe in the files, or Progresso Creamy Mushroom soup is al GF. Cheryl in Colorado Rhiannon wrote: Thank you SO SO much for this idea. Guest guest
This has been posted before, but I think it sounds like such a good recipe that I wanted to post it again. For myself I would substitute GF vegetable boullion that I can purchase at health food stores. http://www.gfutah.org/recipes/Condensed%20Cream%20Soup.html (contains versions for chicken, mushroom, and celery) I wonder if we could maybe post this link in the recipe files, because I keep losing the link for myself. Either that or I could be more organized and keep it as a favorite... heh heh. I recently had to reinstall my computer so it's not as clever and informative as it used to be... bah. Guest guest
No, I'm not, but I can't find it anywhere around here. We keep looking, but haven't had luck yet.
