Guest guest
I have not experienced any symptoms from Urso - sorry. Arne Hello all. I was just wondering, for those taking Ursodiol, if anyone has been experiencing headaches before bedtime and still waking up with headaches... - Shanna UC-'04 PSC-'

Guest guest
Hi, Shanna. I'm not on Urso but my husband is and he does not have headaches. I often get headaches like you're describing, though, and my experience is that they are a combination of stress and sinus issues. Try taking Mucinex and doing something relaxing before going to bed and see if that clears it up. tx, Nina husband PSC 4/

Guest guest
Hi Shanna; Headaches have been reported as a side-effect of ursodiol/actigall: http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/Profs/Datasheet/a/Actigallcap.htm Under " Adverse Effects " : Other In two ongoing double-blind, placebo-controlled ursodiol studies in the U.S., for which the treatment codes have not yet been broken, the following minor events have been reported: Pruritus, rash, urticaria, dry skin, sweating, hair thinning, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, metallic taste, abdominal pain, biliary pain, cholecystitis, diarrhoea, constipation, stomatitis, flatulence, headache, fatigue, anxiety, depression, sleep disorder, arthralgia, myalgia, back pain, cough, rhinitis. So your headaches might be connected. It would be worth talking with your doctor about this. Guest guest
> > I was just wondering, for those taking Ursodiol, if anyone has been experiencing headaches before bedtime and still waking up with headaches. I began getting those after I started taking urso nine years ago, but I can't tie the two together since the headaches didn't start right away. I get them maybe three times a month, and nothing I have tried taking has relieved their symptoms. I believe that they are either UC- or PSC-related, but not necessarily urso-related. I've wondered whether they might be caused by mal- or non-absorption of some critical nutrient due to one or the other disease. The symptoms are similar to headaches brought on by extreme hunger. Gene - Have you investigated if these headaches may be a migraine-type of headache? The symptoms sound like this is possible.
