What is the brand of the noodle cup?

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to thank whoever it was that gave me the GF Molasses cookie recipe (it is awesome!) and I am sorry but I do not remember who it was. After a crazy time of getting ready to go and then to be gone for 2 weeks my memory is about shot.

I also have to tell you that I had a very easy time with family even though I was stressed about going where they did not really understand it (and who really can when it is such an extreme lifestyle change that does get a lot easier!) with my daughter. Through it all she had one reaction while we were there that I am not sure what caused it. She had had some Safeway Corn Pops (that I later found out were not safe), I had tried several new things from the Asian market that I thought were GF but now I am not sure, and the cross contamination that just happens having 12-20 people around that only 3 of which are GF. So all in all I feel pretty well with only the one reaction. Oh and I tried the club soda but of course a 3 year old wouldn't drink it so I added some blue raspberry flavoring and she did finally get it down. You could see her poor tummy distended in one part but as she drank the club soda it went down. She was kind of out of it for the rest of the day too. But she didn't complain a lot and she just rested. The next day we were traveling in the car for 10 hours and I was worried that she would not be able to travel when she first got up that morning. But she was able to and it felt good to have her home in her own GF environment again. I know now she will recover from this episode. Also it led everyone to see how serious it can be and we just adjusted out there.

I know that reactions are not fun but I also know that life is going to happen and the GI doctor did tell us that mistakes would happen along the way and she would get some. We are on guard now and have started reading lables all the more careful since this change snuck up on us for the corn pops. We also ate several different things that maybe a label was not read carefully enough? We really did try and will be so thankful for the new labels that are suppose to be hitting the market now right?

Also I did get a couple of pasta dishes that are kind of like soup in a cup and top ramen type things. They are made with rice noodles and do not list soy sauce but have a general statment of spices. Should I avoid these or do you think they are safe? That is the dish I am not sure if she reacted to.

I just had to share my experience and thank you all for your wonderful advice and the recipes!

Happy Holidays? NO! NO! NO! MERRY CHRISTMAS! YES!!!!!! YES!!!!!!

Bridgett,

I am not sure what the brand I picked up for the Soup in a Cup. It

was one in the Asian Market and I left it in Vancouver since I was not

sure. It is really sad because she really loved it too!

I did bring home some Top Ramen type soups but am afraid to try these

now. Should I be afraid of the term " spices " or " other spices " ?

Thanks,

I always thought "Corn Pops" now called just "pops", called "sugar pops when I was young, was safe. Now with the new packaging, even though I don't see any gluten, it is clearly marked "contains Wheat "

Now what cereals are safe ?

Ellen,

I had picked up a package and did the casual glance at the ingredient

list and am I ever so thankful I did since it listed wheat starch. :(

I am so bummed because so many of the cereals have all the sudden

gone away.
